The ADATA LEGEND 860 is a 1TB internal M.2 SSD for desktop and laptop users who want to add storage or upgrade a compatible system. Its PCIe Gen4 x4 interface and 2280 format also make it suitable for expanding storage in a compatible PlayStation 5.

With sequential read speeds up to 6000MB/s and write speeds up to 4000MB/s for this 1TB model, it offers fast access to games, creative projects and everyday files. The drive supports NVMe 1.4 and 3D NAND, with Host Memory Buffer, SLC caching and LDPC error correction among its features. It can also be used with PCIe 3.0 platforms, though performance depends on the host system.

Key features

• PCIe Gen4 x4 interface supports fast storage transfers on compatible systems.
• 1TB capacity provides space for applications, games and working files.
• M.2 2280 format fits compatible desktop and laptop M.2 slots.
• NVMe 1.4 support enables use with compatible NVMe systems.
• Host Memory Buffer helps the drive manage storage operations using host memory.
• SLC caching supports the drive’s data handling during writes.
• LDPC error correction helps detect and correct data errors.
• ADATA SSD Toolbox software is available for firmware updates and drive management.

Compatibility

Use with a system that supports an M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe drive; the interface and available performance depend on the host slot. ADATA identifies the LEGEND 860 as compatible with PS5 expansion storage. Good to know: confirm that your device has a suitable M.2 PCIe NVMe slot, as an M.2 SATA-only slot is not compatible.
