The ASUS ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 is a wearable gaming display for handheld, PC and compatible USB-C device users who want a larger view at home or on the move. This Narrow size version is designed for an interpupillary distance (IPD) of 57–66 mm.

Its two Micro-OLED displays provide 1920 × 1080 pixels per eye, with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz Frame Rate Boost mode. The glasses project a virtual screen of up to 171 inches at four metres. Native 3DoF lets you anchor the screen in space or have it follow your movement, while electrochromic dimming offers three tint levels and automatic transparency in Anchor Mode. Integrated Sound by Bose speakers add audio without requiring separate headphones.

Key features

• Sony Micro-OLED display technology with 0.55-inch panels.
• Frame Rate Boost enables 240Hz Full HD gameplay through image scaling; sharpness may be slightly reduced compared with native resolution.
• 57° field of view and a virtual screen up to 171 inches at four metres.
• Native 3DoF supports Anchor and Follow modes.
• Electrochromic lenses provide three tint levels and automatic transparency in Anchor Mode.
• Sound by Bose speakers and a noise-cancelling microphone array are built in.
• A detachable prescription lens frame can be fitted by an optician.

Compatibility

Connect through USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode. Refresh rates depend on the connected device; some phones and the Nintendo Switch are limited to 60Hz. For Switch use, connect its dock to a powered HDMI-to-USB-C adapter. Good to know: the glasses need a compatible video output over USB-C, and that adapter is not included in the listed box contents.
