The LaCie d2 Professional is an 8TB desktop hard drive for creative professionals and other users who need extra room for large photo libraries, video projects and archives. It suits Mac and PC users with limited built-in storage, including people working from SSD-based laptops or all-in-one computers.

Inside is an enterprise-class Seagate IronWolf Pro hard drive, designed for dependable performance during demanding storage tasks. The USB-C connection supports fast transfers, while compatibility with a range of USB-C hosts and Thunderbolt connections makes it easier to use with different computers. Its aluminium unibody helps reduce noise and vibration and dissipates heat. The drive is externally powered, so it is intended for a desk setup rather than bus-powered portability. Seagate specifies transfer speeds of up to 260 MB/s for this 8TB model, and includes a five-year limited warranty with Rescue Data Recovery Services, subject to country availability.
