The XPG MARS 980 BLADE is a 1TB internal NVMe SSD for laptop and desktop users who want fast storage for games, demanding applications and large files. Its M.2 2280 format also makes it suitable for compatible PS5 storage expansion.

With a PCIe Gen5 x4 interface and sequential read speeds up to 14,000MB/s, it is built for quick loading and responsive data access. The 1TB version offers sequential write speeds up to 10,000MB/s. Its compact design is intended for laptop use and other systems with limited room for cooling hardware. The drive uses 3D NAND and NVMe 2.0, and includes a DRAM cache buffer and SLC caching to support data handling during everyday workloads.

Key features

• PCIe Gen5 x4 interface for high bandwidth in compatible systems
• Sequential read speeds up to 14,000MB/s
• Sequential write speeds up to 10,000MB/s for the 1TB capacity
• M.2 2280 format for compatible laptops, desktops and PS5 storage expansion
• NVMe 2.0 support
• 3D NAND with DRAM cache buffer and SLC caching
• TCG Pyrite support
• Backward compatible with PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 3.0 platforms

Compatibility

Install in a compatible M.2 2280 slot. A motherboard supporting PCIe 5.0 is needed to achieve optimal performance; the drive is also backward compatible with PCIe 4.0 and 3.0. It can be used for PS5 storage expansion. Good to know: check the host device’s M.2 slot support and available clearance before buying, as the interface and physical fit must both be compatible.
