The ASUS ZenScreen MB166C is a portable monitor for laptop users who want extra screen space while working away from a fixed desk. Its 15.6-inch display suits mobile office work, presentations and keeping documents or reference material visible alongside a laptop screen.

The Full HD IPS panel has an anti-glare surface and wide viewing angles, helping keep content clear when you need to position the screen flexibly. A single USB-C connection can carry video and power from a compatible host, reducing cable clutter. The monitor also has a tripod socket and supports landscape and portrait use, with ASUS DisplayWidget software enabling automatic orientation changes on Windows.

Key features

• Full HD resolution provides a 1920 x 1080 workspace for documents, web pages and presentations.
• IPS technology gives 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles.
• The anti-glare display helps reduce reflections in bright working environments.
• USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode carries video and power over one connection when the host supports it.
• ASUS Eye Care features include TÜV Rheinland-certified flicker-free and low blue light technologies.
• DisplayWidget software can automatically switch between landscape and portrait orientation on Windows.
• An integrated ¼-inch tripod socket offers another way to position the screen; the tripod is sold separately.

Compatibility

Connect it to a laptop or other host with USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode. ASUS states that no additional drivers are needed for macOS. Good to know: a USB-C port that supports data or charging alone may not send video, so check that the host supports DisplayPort Alt Mode before buying. The tripod is not included.
