The NEWlink NLHDMI-HSV03 is a one-way HDMI to VGA adapter for anyone connecting a newer computer or other HDMI source to a VGA monitor or projector. It suits home and office setups where the display has VGA input and the source provides HDMI output.

Alongside analogue VGA video, the adapter provides a 3.5 mm stereo output for connecting speakers. Its USB power port can provide additional power when needed, and the built-in HDMI connection keeps the source side direct. It supports HDCP 1.2 and VGA output up to UXGA and 1080P. The adapter is designed for straightforward use and does not require drivers.

Key features

• Converts an HDMI digital signal to VGA analogue video for compatible displays.
• Provides a 3.5 mm stereo output for connecting external speakers.
• Includes a USB power port for additional power when required.
• Supports HDCP 1.2.
• Supports 165 MHz bandwidth and 1.65 Gbps per channel.
• Supports VGA output up to UXGA and 1080P.
• Uses a 10-bit DAC for digital-to-analogue conversion.
• Plug-and-play setup without driver installation.

Compatibility

Connect an HDMI output to a VGA display; the conversion works in that direction only. Use the 3.5 mm stereo socket to route audio separately to speakers, as VGA carries video only. The USB power connection is available if extra power is needed. Good to know: this adapter does not convert a VGA source for an HDMI display, and a VGA display needs a separate audio connection to play sound.
