The TP-Link Omada SG3428MP is a managed Gigabit switch for small and medium business networks. It suits network installers connecting access points, IP cameras, IP phones and other wired devices across an office, school or similar site.

Twenty-four Gigabit RJ45 ports support 802.3af/at PoE+, with up to 30 W per port and a combined 384 W PoE budget. That lets compatible devices receive power and data over one Ethernet cable. Four Gigabit SFP slots provide fibre uplinks, while L2+ features such as static routing, VLANs, ACLs and QoS help organise and manage network traffic. The switch can be managed on its own through its web interface, CLI, SNMP and RMON, or centrally through an Omada SDN controller. Controller-dependent features include cloud access and zero-touch provisioning.

Compatibility

Use the PoE ports with devices that comply with IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at; each port can provide up to 30 W, subject to the total PoE budget. The SFP slots require compatible SFP transceivers for fibre connections. Centralised cloud management and zero-touch provisioning require an Omada SDN controller, and a cloud-based controller is required for zero-touch provisioning. Good to know: the controller and SFP transceivers are not identified as included in the box contents, so plan for them separately if your setup requires them.
