The TP-Link TL-SF1005LP is an unmanaged desktop switch for home offices and small businesses that need to add wired connections and power compatible devices over Ethernet. It suits setups with IP cameras, wireless access points or IP phones where a compact, straightforward network connection is useful.
Five Fast Ethernet ports provide 10/100 Mbps connections, with PoE on four ports to carry data and power over the same cable. The 41 W PoE budget supports several powered devices, while plug-and-play operation means no switch configuration is required. Extend Mode can carry data and power up to 250 m for suitable deployments; in that mode port speed falls to 10 Mbps. Priority Mode gives ports 1–2 higher priority, and intelligent power management helps allocate the available PoE budget.
Key features
- Four PoE ports power compatible devices through their Ethernet cables.
- Supports IEEE 802.3af compliant powered devices.
- 41 W total PoE power budget for connected equipment.
- Extend Mode supports transmission distances up to 250 m, with port speed reduced to 10 Mbps.
- Priority Mode gives ports 1–2 higher priority for sensitive applications such as video monitoring.
- Intelligent power management helps protect connected PoE and non-PoE equipment from overload.
- Fanless metal enclosure supports quiet desktop or wall-mounted installation.
Compatibility
Connect compatible IEEE 802.3af powered devices such as IP cameras, access points and IP phones to the PoE ports. Other Ethernet devices can use the switch for data connections. Good to know: PoE power is limited to a total budget of 41 W, and using Extend Mode reduces port speed to 10 Mbps; check device power needs and bandwidth before installation.
