It sits between a network switch and the powered device, sending power over Ethernet while passing through Gigabit data.

Its 24V DC output supplies up to 1A, with power carried on two pairs of Ethernet pins. The adapter also includes surge and clamping protection to help protect connected outdoor equipment from electrical events. A grounded setup using Ubiquiti TOUGHCable and its connectors can help protect against electrostatic discharge. The LAN port connects to the network switch, while the PoE port connects to the device being powered.

Key features

Provides passive 24V PoE for compatible network equipment.

Supports Gigabit Ethernet passthrough for network data.

Supplies up to 1A output current.

Uses pins 4 and 5 for positive power and pins 7 and 8 for negative power.

Includes surge protection for differential and common mode events.

Clamping protection helps limit voltage on data and power lines.

Supports remote reset and has a reset button.

Compatibility

Use it only with equipment that accepts passive 24V PoE; this is not an 802.3af or 802.3at injector. Check the powered device's voltage and pin requirements before connecting. The AC input is rated for 100–240V at 50/60Hz. Good to know: a UK mains cable is included by the cited UK retailer, but cable supply may vary by seller.

In the box

Ubiquiti POE-24-24W-G

UK power cable

Specifications

Specification

Detail

Product type

Gigabit PoE injector

Part number

POE-24-24W-G

Output voltage

24V DC @ 1.0A

Maximum output current

1 A

Input voltage

100-240V AC @ 50/60Hz

Ethernet

Gigabit LAN port

Powering method

2-pair; pins 4, 5 (+) and pins 7, 8 (-)

Dimensions

88 x 57 x 33 mm

Weight

159 g

Colour

Black

For a compatible installation, this adapter combines Gigabit data and passive power in a compact, straightforward injector, with surge protection features suited to network equipment installations.
